Dillon Brooks, Suns agree to $73 million extension

One of the toughest players in the league gets a three year extension to remain in Phoenix

The Phoenix Suns are keeping one of the toughest players in the NBA for the foreseeable future.

Phoenix has agreed to a three-year contract extension with forward Dillon Brooks, a move that reaffirms the organization's commitment to toughness and a competitive mindset. Since arriving in Phoenix, Brooks has become much more than just a defensive specialist, providing consistent scoring, leadership, and an edge that helped reshape the team's identity.

In a year that many expected the Suns to be among the worst in the league, Brooks helped lead them, alongside superstar Devin Booker, to the playoffs. A short-lived playoff berth that saw them get swept in four games by the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.

Brooks delivered the most productive offensive season of his career last year, posting 20 points per game, all while continuing to take on the challenge of defending the opposing team's best perimeter player. Along with the extension of Brooks, the Suns traded for F Miles Bridges earlier in the offseason. They also added Luke Kennard on a multi-year deal and re-signed key players such as Collin Gillespie, Mark Williams, and Jordan Goodwin.

Brooks, a 30-year-old Canadian, has proved himself to be a key factor in building a winning mindset in Phoenix. Brooks arrived in Phoenix after six years in Memphis before joining the Houston Rockets for two seasons.
